2021 Nissan GT-R50, Limited Edition by Italdesign

After the prototype model was on display, the Nissan GT-R50 was officially unveiled with a limited quota of just 50 units.

Nissan GT-R50 will be shown for the first time in Geneva, but we all know that the event was canceled due to the Pandemic. Unlike the image of the previous production version, the first GT-R50 comes with a teal color, combined with black accents on the front and rear fascia.

Nissan GT-R R35 with a total makeover

Basically, the Nissan GT-R50 is the R35 that has been on sale since 2007. However, the special edition made by Italdesign received several exterior changes. It is renewed from the bumper to the headlights, as well as some changes in the interior that make it a little more modern.

Can’t be denied, the GT-R50 is a supercar that looks aggressive. It comes with a lower roof (2.1 inches) compared to the 2018 GT-R Nismo, which is the base, with a mid-low roof design.

LED headlights give the Nissan GT-R50 a fresh look and the rear spoiler is adjustable. The exterior changes of the GT-R50 are complemented by 21-inch wheels that are manufactured exclusively for this model. The GT-R50 design was penned at Nissan’s San Diego design studio.

Unlike the exterior, the interior of the Nissan GT-R50 has not received significant changes. Only the use of expensive materials such as carbon fiber, premium leather and Alcantara makes a premium impression. However, the old impression is inevitable, after all, this is a 13-year-old car.

Uplifted Car Performance

The Nissan GT-R50 also gets a significant performance boost. Thanks to the evolution of the twin-turbo 3.8L V6 engine. Nismo managed to increase engine power from the original 600 HP to 710 HP. Meanwhile, the torque obtained also increased by 128 Nm to 780 Nm.

Nissan installed a reinforced 6-speed dual-clutch sequential transmission to compensate for the increased engine power. Nissan also installed a Big brake kit Brembo to improve braking performance. For the suspension, Bilstein added continuously adjustable damping. The GT-R50 uses Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires 255/35 R21 at the front and 285/35 R21 at the rear.

Although Nissan has received orders for the GT-R50 since December 2018, and only 50 units were made, there are still a few slots you can buy. The price is around $ 1.08 million, five times more than the GT-R Nismo. Don’t Dream It, Drive It!
